CrewForum Rules and Guidelines

As a registered member of CrewForum.co.uk (herein referred to as CrewForum) you agree to the following rules and policies:

Membership of CrewForum is limited to current members of the British Airways cabin crew community who are in permanent employment as cabin crew and to certain other invited individuals whose participation is considered to be beneficial to the crew community.

CrewForum is to be used by British Airways cabin crew for the exchange of ideas, news and thoughts. Your messages should be posted in the appropriate section of the forum and should not be posted in duplicate.

You must not disclose information that may compromise the security of the aviation industry or the commercial integrity of British Airways itself. CrewForum is not liable for any harm or loss whatsoever caused by the disclosure of any such information.

If you cease being a current British Airways cabin crew for whatever reason, or if you move between fleets, you agree to notify CrewForum about this and to provide the date on which your cabin crew role is expected to end or change. Examples of situations where you would need to give notice would include moving to a role in management within British Airways or to ground duties or going on secondment to another department, or leaving for another job outside the company, or taking severance or retirement. If such a situation arises, please send either an e-mail to support@crewforum.co.uk or a private message to the Easytiger747 or Admin accounts. Failure to notify CrewForum about such changes may result in the suspension or termination of your account.  For the avoidance of doubt, the CSM role on Mixed Fleet is regarded as a management position and will render its holders ineligible for membership of CrewForum.

For your protection, when you register you are required to give a small amount of information about yourself.  Other than as mentioned below, the information you provide is visible only to the forum administrators.  For this reason, and to enable CrewForum to maintain its obligations including as regards security and data protection, you agree that after registration you will not delete the information you have initially provided.  If you wish to alter any of the information initially provided please do so by going to www.crewforum.co.uk/confirm/ to submit the changes.  As mentioned, it is possible to display certain pieces of information about yourself (such as your e-mail address, your gender and your selected location) publicly on your profile or next to your posts if you so wish.

Information supplied by you will not be shared with third parties and will be for the sole use of CrewForum.  CrewForum however reserves the right to reveal whatever information it holds about you in the event of a complaint or legal action.

If you do not provide genuine details, or if you remove the details you supply on registration, your account may be suspended or your membership terminated without warning or explanation. You will not allow anyone else (and this includes your spouse or partner) to access CrewForum using your account. If it is suspected that you are doing this, then again your account may be suspended or your membership terminated without warning or explanation.

You agree in addition that you will not post material from CrewForum onto any other site or make such material available (or allow such material to be made available in any form) to persons who are not members of CrewForum without express permission either from CrewForum or from the person or persons who contributed that material in the first place.  If someone who is not a member of CrewForum is shown to have had access to material obtained from CrewForum, and it is established to CrewForum's satisfaction that this material was obtained either directly from you or through access to CrewForum through your membership account, then CrewForum reserves the right, in addition to the above, to reveal your true identity on the face of CrewForum and you agree that CrewForum may do this.

Please note that it is not permitted to have duplicate or multiple usernames or accounts on CrewForum.

You agree not to use this forum to post any material which is vulgar, defamatory, inaccurate, harassing, hateful, threatening, invading of others privacy, offensive, immoral, abusive, indecent, malicious or otherwise undesirable.

You agree not to post material which may be construed as offensive to the holders of any (or no) religious belief or of any sexual orientation, or which violates any laws.

You may not post any messages that could harm the reputation of any individual, brand or company or of CrewForum.

You also agree that you will not post any copyrighted material the copyright to which is not owned by yourself or by CrewForum. You agree that any material you post here may be collated, stored or otherwise used by CrewForum for the benefit of its members.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CrewForum, its owners and its agents with respect to any claim (including if appropriate any application made by a third party to a court for the release of data relating to yourself) based upon any message you may make or send using the facilities provided by CrewForum.  Although messages posted are not the responsibility of this forum and CrewForum is not responsible for the content or accuracy of any of these messages, CrewForum reserves the right to delete any message, or to close or delete any discussion thread, for any or no reason whatsoever.

Although CrewForum will endeavour to ensure that messages posted on the forum comply with the rules set out here, you agree that CrewForum will not be responsible for any delay in enforcing these rules or for any failure to do so.

If you do find any message objectionable then you accept that it is your obligation to report the message either by pressing the report button connected to that message or by contacting CrewForum by sending an e-mail to support@CrewForum.co.uk or a private message to the Easytiger747 or Admin accounts.  You accept that there may sometimes be significant delays in responding to any communication from you.

CrewForum will endeavour to deal with any issues raised sensitively and within a reasonable timescale. However, you agree that CrewForum is not responsible for any offence, harm or loss you may suffer by virtue of any delay  or failure on its part to resolve an issue.

You accept that the entire responsibility for any offence, harm or loss you may suffer arising from any message posted on CrewForum lies with the person originally posting that message. You accept that it is always open to you to resolve differences over any message posted on CrewForum by contacting the original author directly via private message.

These rules are governed by English law and, in the event of any dispute, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.

By registering to use CrewForum you confirm that you meet the above criteria and that you accept and agree to abide by all of the above rules and policies.  You further agree that by logging onto CrewForum at each visit you are reconfirming acceptance of the forum rules as they may stand at that time.  You accept that it is up to you to reread these rules regularly to ensure that you are aware of any changes and that there is no obligation on CrewForum to make any public announcement of any changes in these rules.

Membership of CrewForum is entirely discretionary.  CrewForum may suspend or terminate your account at any time and without reason.

Members’ Rules

To help you gain the most from CrewForum, please familiarise yourself with the rules and guidelines below. These are really an easy-reference short form of the full CrewForum rules which you accepted when you registered with the site.

These rules and guidelines are designed to help give a better understanding of what behaviour is expected and make your experience more enjoyable.

Rules (DON'Ts):

1. No discussion of any illegal activity.

2. No use of obscene language or images, including racist remarks.

3. No posts that attack, insult, "flame", defame, or abuse members or non-members. Respect other members of the forum and don’t belittle, make fun off, or insult another member or non-member. "Flaming" and insults, however, will not be tolerated. Agree to disagree.

4. No advertising or links to advertising is permited (including signatures).

• Advertising is defined as posting a link for the purpose of selling, soliciting or promoting by someone that has ownership or some other "vested interest" to the website involved.

• If you are a website owner and have a link that fits into this category that you want to share, please contact Easytiger747.

• Links to helpful websites (commercial or otherwise) are allowed when they are posted by someone without any vested interest AND where there is no intention to circumvent the rules above.

5. No posts of copyrighted material. Information copyrighted or owned by any individual or entity other than the person posting should not be posted on CrewForum without the consent of the owner.

6. Do not disrespect moderators. Be respectful in both the forums and any private communications with moderators. Moderators are volunteers that donate many, many hours of their own time to help in running CrewForum. Violations of this rule will not be tolerated.

7. Do not post offline personal contact information (i.e. your home address, phone numbers etc.) and do not ask for personal information from others.

8. No duplicate posts.

Guidelines (DO's):

1. Check for open topics. Before posting a new topic, please check to see if there is already a topic open on the subject.

2. Ignore bothersome members. If there is someone on the forum that bothers you, select the Buddy function in your Member's Profile and check the option which prevents that member from sending you private messages. You won't see any private messages from this member again.

3. Report posts that violate the rules and guidelines by selecting the report button in the bottom left corner of the post to notify Easytiger747 and the moderators. We will act on the report as quickly as we can. Do not reply to the offending post as that typically only encourages the poster.

4. Welcome new members. When new members post, say "Hello" and welcome them. Help new members "learn the ropes" about how to find their way around CrewForum and how to get involved.

5. Use descriptive titles for new threads. Avoid generic titles like "Help" or "Question". You will receive a better response to your posts by being more descriptive about the content of your thread.

Know Your Moderators:

The Moderators are as follows:  Alicky, LucySkyWalker, Miss Triss, and pp65.

CrewForum is moderated by volunteers. While they may not have answers to all your questions, moderators are here to help in any way they can. Moderators have the right to edit or hide posts that violate any of the rules above, and may do so without prior notice. They are also responsible for promoting participation in the forums.

Each moderator may see things through slightly different eyes and some variance is to be expected. However, moderators promise to base their decision-making on the content of posts rather than personal feelings about the member posting them.

If you have a question for a moderator about a decision, you can send them a private message and discuss it privately. Please do not enter into open debate on the face of the forum with the moderators about their actions. The moderators may not see things the same way you do, but they are open and approachable. If you and a moderator disagree about an issue after discussing it by private message, you are requested to contact Easytiger747 to resolve the disagreement. A moderator has the right to decline to enter into discussion and can refer the matter directly to Easytiger747 themselves at any time.

Please Remember:

Users that do not abide by the rules may be subject to having their posts edited or deleted, their member account permanently banned from further access and/or deleted without notice.

Rules and guidelines may change at any time, please re-read them regularly.

It is better to say nothing than say something which could cause offence.
